Iron Age Design Journal #1: FORCE Ops

In this installment of Super-Vision we take a look at Freedom City’s darkest era, and its most controversial team of heroes with a preview of the cover of Iron Age by artist Brian Hagan, and an introduction to the members of FORCE Ops:

Archer: Ethan Keller was a kid off the mean streets of Lincoln, taken in and trained by the third Bowman as his partner and protégé. When Bowman and all the heroes he looked up to let him down, Keller took matters into his own hands and adopted the costume, name, and arsenal of Archer. He took in other misfits and outcasts and forged them into a crime-fighting team: the Freelance Organization of Criminal Elimination Operatives.

Bruiser: FORCE Ops’ muscle and invulnerable shield-wall, Bruiser’s hulking apperance conceals a gentle and tortured soul who only wants to be to normal.

El Gato: A young woman under an ancient family curse, El Gato came from South America to fight the drug-lords who killed her family, finding purpose and a new family with FORCE Ops.

Kismet: Mysterious mercenary and special operative, Kismet once worked for the highest bidder, but now owes her loyalty to Archer and his team. Her experience and skill are balanced by her cynicism and her tendency to keep secrets about her past.

Network: A computer hacker accidentally transformed into a being of pure energy, Network exists in-between the real and “virtual” worlds, able to explore the digital realms in ways he’d only imagined, but cut off from ordinary life.

Nightrage: The victim of a vampire lord, the man called Nightrage rebelled against his new “master” and won his freedom, but only as an accursed creature of the night. He turned his unnatural hunger and power to the cause of justice: a predator preying upon the criminal element.

You’ll be seeing much more about FORCE Ops in the “Iron Age of Freedom” chapter of the upcoming Iron Age sourcebook, along with more about that dark age of Freedom City’s history, including sometime allies like Evening and the Eye of Justice, the Furies Three, and the Hell-Rider along with their foes, from RIOT and the DNAscendants to the Labyrinth, the Kantarchist Cult, and the criminal empire of Augustus Roman. Stay tuned to Super-Vision for updates!
